Apex of human achievement
If there are five details you should know about me as a person, they are these:
- I worship at the altar of Janet Jackson, because she is the goddess of dance and all that which is fabuluscious
- KITTEH is my sovereign Lord and master – there is no KITTEH but KITTEH, and he is a jealous KITTEH
- Beauty in all its myriad forms, whether tangible or conceptual, enraptures, inspires, and fascinates me
- I do what I say I am going to do, so never express surprise when I do just that (though some occasions require more time to follow through)
- I love chocolate
With this in mind, the most important scientific discovery in the history of knowledge was just discussed on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Not sure I could believe my ears, I went to find the original research, and here it is in its abbreviated glory. Oh, but life is too good to be true sometimes…

Interview: @JamesWithers3
Hello everyone! I just got back from Boston, and I wanted to share a conversation I had with the man who blogs at What the World Does not Need. James and I have chatted on and off for quite a while, and he sent me a set of questions recently after I bemoaned always being asked the same questions over and over. I was frustrated, because I didn’t get how I could be giving “exclusive” interviews if no one takes the time to ask me anything I haven’t already answered repeatedly. Well, James asked me some refreshing questions, and I think we have some nice banter. Go check out the rest of his well-written blog as well.

Spring 2012: Happy Ostara!
Today, although extremely frustrating in many ways, ended quite pleasantly. I was feeling blocked regarding a design process, but I finally got to speak with the director in charge, and so I feel I at least got to air my concerns. And that helps: Knowing that you at least got to communicate. What I did miss (while being worried about the various tasks I had delegated) was the majority of an extraordinarily beautiful day. I did come around and catch the end of it. Charlotte, NC definitely knows how to welcome Spring: The colors here today were beyond beautiful. I am happy to say I did finally get snatched out of my 48-hour crankiness in time to really appreciate how amazing the flowers, trees, and grass looked (though I do have to rinse my car off daily to be able to see through the windshield LOL).
So, the Spring Equinox has come and gone. And the perfect balance of night and day is rather like a metaphor for my day: It was evenly challenging and gratifying. Despite the intense irritation I was feeling about several issues today, I also got to relight some art in my apartment, spend time with a good friend, and have a particularly pleasant rehearsal this evening. Funny that during the light hours I was feeling so dark, and during the dark hours I feel myself light again. But what can you do?
Something I am very excited about is Anteros Media. I love it more each day (even when parts of it make me sick with stress). I’ve been saying “it’ll be out soon” for quite a while, but in the scope of everything (this has been a three-year process thus far), a few more weeks isn’t really that far off. Oh, but I do hope Beltane is the day I get to make a special announcement…

Well hello!! OMG I’m gagging on my own spit…
I absolutely love this redesign. It’s so simple, clean, and efficient. I also think it’s very beautiful. The other incarnations of the blog were lovely in their way; however, this is such a shift that I can hardly stand it. I just love it.
So then… Hopefully all this is intuitive, and I hope you enjoy playing with the buttons and seeing what everything does. I really do think this is a better way to present the content for the blog. It is also aligned with the goal to make each reiteration of the design more compact, with less and less scrolling.
Enjoy! This new design is light, open, free, and happy. And I hope you are, too!

Anteros: A Forgotten Myth
I have just received a copy of a new book that I had to order from Amazon’s UK division. It’s fresh off the presses, and I’m very excited. The introduction is already asking the questions that I myself was pondering, and yet I feel that I am about to put into an LGBT context many of the answers, examples, and philosophical quandaries he will be addressing throughout the work. At any rate, if you are interested in a Jungian analysis of Anteros, I invite you to find a copy of “Anteros: A Forgotten Myth” by Craig E. Stephenson. I will be interested to see how he has applied the characteristics of Anteros to his own therapy process in treating/aiding his clients, and then looking for the ways I have instinctively (and without training) either found the same/similar course or veered in a totally different direction. I don’t know yet the extent to which Stephenson will be focusing on issues of sexuality and identity, but my gut tells me that I will have more in common with him than not. Others may think I’m foolish (or out of touch) for being so lofty in my aspirations, but I honestly believe and embrace that sex powered by affection is a source of healing, nurturing, and growth, and that I can create LGBT adult videos that serve as an anterotic resource that balances the purpose and function of the erotic.
